“Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” Tom Cruise's movie hits box office number one spot with $56 million

This achievement marks the U.S actor's third-highest debut and the second best opening ever for a "Mission: Impossible" film on the chart.

The newest installment of the “Mission: Impossible” series, “Rogue Nation” secured the number one spot at the box office last weekend raking in an estimated $56 million at its opening in the United States.
This achievement marks Tom Cruise's third-highest debut and the second best opening ever for a "Mission: Impossible" film. In the action spy film, Cruise who plays the role of Ethan Hunt stars alongside Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner.

Also on the US box office chart, New Line and Warner Bros. Pictures’ remake of “Vacation”, starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate received $14.8 million.

 "Ant-Man" by Marvel Studios’ moved down to third place when it dropped by 49% with $12.6 million. "Minions" also dropped one spot to number four with $12.2 million. “Pixels” on the other hand dropped three places with $10.4 million to fifth position.
Rom-com "Trainwreck" came sixth place with $9.7 million while Southpaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal and "Paper Towns" starring Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne both fell two spots to seven and eight with $7.5 million and $4.6 million, respectively at their second opening weekend.

"Inside Out" got the ninth place with $4.5 million followed by "Jurassic World", which obtained the tenth spot with $3.8 million.
